Has our Breaking Bread call invited ideas to rise in you like bread dough set to rise in a warm place in your kitchen? Now is the time to pull out that dough, punch it down a bit, shape it, and bake it. Our submission deadline is one month from today: April 15, 2016. See our full call for submissions for more information. Email pieces to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We accept submissions of narrative nonfiction, fiction, essays, poetry, and visual art. Prose and fiction should be 2,000 words or less. Poets are welcome to submit up to three pieces, and visual artists may submit up to ten images.
If you are an undergraduate student or work with undergraduate writers, please note our New Terrain Award. Undergraduate students may submit essays, stories, or poems on the theme of Breaking Bread and reflective environmental practice. One student will receive the New Terrain Award of $250 and publication in our print volume. Submit undergraduate pieces using our online form.
Questions? Don’t hesitate to contact us (email@example.com) with your ideas and queries between now and April 15. We will provide feedback regarding your ideas and their fit with Whole Terrain and the Breaking Bread theme.
